Emergency services were called to Roker Park in Sunderland this morning following the discovery of a man's body. Northumbria Police received a report of concern for welfare at 7:35am on Monday, and an ambulance crew also attended the scene.
A large police cordon remains in place, with some sections of the park closed to the public. The North East Ambulance Service dispatched one ambulance crew and a clinical team leader after receiving a call at 7:33am.
Police have confirmed that the man's next of kin have been informed. There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
