CCTV Captures Fatal Stabbing in Great Yarmouth

Disturbing CCTV footage has emerged showing the moment a 23-year-old man was stabbed to death in broad daylight in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. The incident occurred on Wednesday at around 12:40pm near the seafront.

The footage shows the victim walking in St Peter's Road before being approached by a man in a dark hooded jacket wielding a large knife. After a brief exchange, the victim is stabbed and staggers into nearby Wellington Road, where he collapsed and later died despite efforts from members of the public and paramedics.

Police have launched a murder inquiry but have not yet made any arrests. The weapon has not been recovered. Detective Inspector Dave McCormack, leading the investigation, urged the public not to share the footage on social media, stating: 'Behind this footage is real people; someone has lost their life and a family are left grieving.'

Residents expressed shock and fear for their safety. Office worker Karolina Visockyte said: 'This happened in the middle of the day. People should be having their lunch. I don't feel safe in the town anymore.' Another resident, who moved from London in 2004, said: 'Yarmouth is getting bad... I left London for a reason to avoid gang-related stuff.'

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward. A post-mortem examination is being carried out by a Home Office pathologist.
