Armed officers descended on Llanelli town centre on Monday after reports of an ongoing incident. Police were called to an aggravated burglary at Great Western Crescent, where Llanelli railway station is located, shortly after 7am.
Two men arrested
Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that two men, aged 35 and 49, were arrested in connection with the incident and remain in police custody. The force stated that the incident is no longer ongoing but a police presence will continue in the area while inquiries are carried out.
Isolated incident
Police believe the incident was isolated and involved individuals known to each other, with no wider threat to the public. A spokesman said: "Officers are dealing with a report of an aggravated burglary at Great Western Crescent, Llanelli, following a call made at 7.05am on Monday morning, July 27."
"Two men, aged 35 and 49, have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in police custody. A police presence remains in the area while inquiries are carried out. Officers believe this to be an isolated incident involving individuals known to each other and there is no wider threat to the public."
