British Transport Police have released CCTV images of two men in connection with a horrific acid attack at Crawley railway station that left a man in his 30s with potentially life-changing burns.
The victim was chased by three attackers and fell over before being kicked, just after 11.20pm on Saturday. A corrosive substance was thrown at him, causing chemical burn injuries that required hospital treatment. He has since been discharged.
Detective Constable Billy Burstow said extensive enquiries, including witness interviews and forensic work, have been conducted. One man has been arrested, but police are now appealing for help to identify two other individuals captured on CCTV.
Burstow stressed the incident is being treated as isolated, with no wider risk to the community. He urged anyone who recognises the men to text 61016 with reference 851 of 7 March, or call 0800 40 50 40. Anonymous information can also be given to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
