An 18-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital and a 20-year-old man has been seriously injured after their e-bikes were taken from them by a group in Atherton, Wigan.
The attack happened on Millers Lane yesterday (October 1) in daylight. The 20-year-old's injury is not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
Police appeal for witnesses
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said in a statement: "At around 2.15pm, it is believed that the two men – aged 18 and 20 - had their e-bikes taken from them by a group on Millers Lane.
"The 20-year old has a serious injury, which is not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. The other man, 18, remains in a critical condition in hospital."
No arrests have been made, and officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. Police are also asking for anyone with CCTV, dashcam, or mobile phone footage from the area at the time to contact them.
Investigation ongoing
Detective Inspector Kathryn Tyldesley, from GMP's Wigan district, said: "We are still piecing together the exact timeline of events to determine what occurred, and appreciate the concern that this incident will cause.
"Ultimately, two men have suffered serious injuries, and we are doing all we can to establish the facts and ensure all appropriate actions are taken.
"If anyone has any information, I would urge them to come forward, as your assistance could greatly benefit our ongoing work."
Extensive enquiries are ongoing, and officers remain in the area as they continue to investigate the incident.
