Snooker Star Kyren Wilson's Home Burgled, Watches and Charity Cash Stolen
Kyren Wilson's Home Burgled During Snooker Event

Former world snooker champion Kyren Wilson had his house burgled on Monday morning while he was competing at the Championship League Snooker event in Leicester. Wilson had begun his tournament with a 3-0 victory over Haydon Pinhey at the Mattioli Arena, unaware that thieves were ransacking his home at the same time.

Wilson Withdraws from Tournament

Upon learning of the burglary, Wilson immediately withdrew from the competition. The 33-year-old confirmed that luxury watches, jewellery, and £2,000 in cash set aside for a charitable donation were stolen. In a statement posted on Instagram, Wilson detailed the stolen items: a Cartier watch, an Audemars Piguet watch, a ladies’ Rolex Datejust with a pink dial, and a blue sapphire necklace he bought for his wife to celebrate their 10-year wedding anniversary.

“The offenders were captured on CCTV and stole several items of significant sentimental and financial value,” Wilson wrote. “They also stole £2,000 in cash that had been set aside as a donation to the BeMoreFab Children’s Cancer Charity, making this incident even more upsetting for our family.”

Police Investigation Underway

Wilson reported the matter to the police, who are reviewing CCTV footage. He urged the public to share his Instagram post and contact authorities if they have information or are offered any of the stolen items. “This has been a deeply distressing experience, not because of the value of the items alone, but because of the personal memories and meaning attached to them,” he added.

As a result of Wilson’s withdrawal, opponents Pinhey, Dylan Emery, and Michal Szubarczyk were awarded walkovers. Wilson is not scheduled to play again until the Shanghai Masters, which starts on July 27.

Upcoming Charity Exhibition

On Saturday, it was revealed that Wilson will participate in a snooker exhibition event in October to raise funds for the BeMoreFab charity, which supports children with cancer. The event, hosted by Wilson’s brother Taylor Wilson, will feature Wilson, Stuart Bingham, Joe O'Connor, and Louis Heathcote. Wilson expressed pride in supporting the charity, saying, “Day in, day out, Florence inspires many of us taking on her daily life challenges with a smile and bundles of character. This exhibition will be the third one we’ve hosted and we believe this will be the best one yet! All proceeds to the BeMoreFab children’s cancer charity – let’s raise as much money as possible and have a great night along the way.”
