Edinburgh Airport has been evacuated this evening following reports of a potentially suspicious package. A bomb squad was scrambled and a cordon has been set up by Police Scotland.
Police Statement
A statement from the force read: "Edinburgh airport has been evacuated as a precaution following a report of a potentially suspicious package, reported around 6.50pm on Friday, 19 June, 2026. Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) are in attendance and a cordon is in place around the airport."
Passengers Evacuated
Images posted on Fife Jammer Locations show huge crowds of passengers waiting outside the airport, appearing to have been evacuated, Edinburgh Live reports.
