Drug dealer caught flushing evidence down toilet jailed

A drug dealer who tried to flush items down the toilet during a police raid has been jailed for five years and seven months.

Michael Boardman, 36, of Mersey Street, Warrington, was found in the bathroom as officers from Cheshire Police executed a drugs warrant at his home in July. The force says he appeared to be attempting to flush items down the toilet.

Officers directed to kitchen cupboard

After being detained, Boardman told officers: "It's in the cupboard in the kitchen." The cupboard contained a quantity of cash, around £1,600 worth of cocaine, digital scales, snap bags, and personal amounts of cannabis.

Charges and sentencing

Boardman was charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession of cannabis, and possession of criminal property. He later pleaded guilty to the charges.

He was jailed for five years and seven months at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, September 25.

Detective Sergeant Alexander Reeves, of Cheshire Police, said: "Boardman has been handed a significant custodial sentence for his involvement in the supply of cocaine, something which he had no choice but to admit to. Illegal drugs have a devastating effect on our streets, and we are committed to bringing those who exploit this to justice."
