Paul Evans, from I-Spy Detectives, has compiled a definitive list of the top five careers most likely to cross the line. The list includes IT professionals, sales reps, flight attendants, call centre workers, and medical professionals.
According to a Forbes survey, 40% of participants admitted to cheating on their current partner with a colleague. Paul's findings highlight specific industries where workplace affairs are more common.
IT Professionals and Sales Reps
IT professionals are ranked fifth on the list. Paul revealed: 'We've dealt with more cases in the IT sector than we would expect to.' He explained that these workers have constant access to technology and social media, making it easier for them to hide secret conversations.
Sales reps come in fourth. Paul noted: 'Sales reps are persuasive by nature, which can help them manipulate others if they have to.' He added that they have followed reps around the country to find them cheating with work colleagues and sometimes people they met at hotel bars.
Flight Attendants and Call Centre Workers
Flight attendants are third on the list. Paul shared that 'the distance, freedom and glamorous settings can increase temptation, especially when you are far away from your partner — boundaries can quickly fade.' He recounted a case of a married flight attendant who was meeting a pilot from another airline during stopovers.
Call centre workers are ranked second. Paul said: 'Call centre workers are under pressure every day, and it's only natural to form bonds with the people around you.' He added that these friendships often cross the line when spending long hours side by side.
Medical Professionals Top the List
Medical professionals are the number one profession for cheaters, according to Paul's year-long investigation. He stated: 'The number one profession for cheaters that we deal with is those in the medical field.'
Paul shared a case where a nurse was having an affair with a doctor during night shifts, meeting in a spare room in the hospital while their partners believed they were working. Doctors can spend up to 60 hours every week at the hospital, and the job is highly stressful and anxiety-inducing.
