Reagan Cox, 30, was arrested in Florida on Saturday for resisting arrest during a traffic stop. After she arrived at Brevard County Jail, officers reportedly discovered something abnormal with Cox's “lower region”.
An irregularity was picked up by jail scanners before Cox was taken to a changing room, where she attempted “to shield” her buttocks with her hand, authorities said. When she eventually removed her hand, a bag of cocaine allegedly fell out, containing 3.8 grams of the white powder.
Claim of intimate encounter
Cox denied knowing about the drug and reportedly told the deputies someone could have placed it there during anal sex. The woman received an additional charge for bringing contraband to a detention facility and was released from custody the same day.
Plea deal and sentencing
She has since struck a plea deal over the incident. During a court hearing held on Monday September 28, Cox entered no contest pleas to introducing contraband into a jail and obstruction charges.
She was placed on probation for 18 months and ordered to pay $700 (around £530). She was also sentenced to 70 days in jail, but was released through time already spent behind bars.
