A 17-year-old boy was robbed at knifepoint while walking to work in Cardiff city centre on Wednesday, police have confirmed.

The incident occurred on St Mary Street at around 10am, when the teenager was forced to hand over £100.

Police investigation ongoing

South Wales Police said no arrests have been made and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

A spokesman for the force said: "South Wales Police was called at 10.30am this morning (Wednesday August 26) to reports of a robbery on St. Mary’s street."
