Police are searching for a man in connection with an alleged 'wine, dine, stay and dash' incident at a luxury hotel in North Yorkshire. The group, consisting of three adults and four children, reportedly enjoyed a lavish meal and overnight stay at the Crathorne Hall Hotel in Yarm on May 11, 2026, before leaving without settling their substantial bar and room service bill.

Incident Details

North Yorkshire Police revealed that the payment card used to reserve and pay for the accommodation had insufficient funds, leaving a significant outstanding debt. The group incurred a large tab for drinks and room service during their stay.

CCTV Appeal

Authorities have released a CCTV image of a man they believe may have crucial information about the incident. In a statement, the force said: 'We have released a CCTV still of a man we would like to speak to after a fraud at a North Yorkshire hotel. A man booked two hotel rooms and attended the Crathorne Hall Hotel on May 11, 2026 with two other adults and four children. They incurred a large bar and room service bill. When asked to pay, the group left the hotel without doing so. The card used to book and pay for the rooms had insufficient funds, leaving a large unpaid bill.'
