A man from Cardiff who absconded from police for almost a year has been jailed for his involvement in the supply of cannabis and amphetamine.
Nayef Manzi, 31, was stopped by police on the M4 in Cardiff on December 10, 2024. Two mobile phones were seized from his vehicle, and one was later linked to him through examination. The device contained a large number of chat threads across multiple social media applications, indicating his involvement in drug supply.
Arrest and absconding
Before he could be interviewed, Manzi absconded from an approved address in London where he was residing following his arrest.
Almost a year later, on December 4, 2025, he was stopped by police while driving a McLaren 540C on the westbound carriageway of the M4, and was found to be driving whilst disqualified.
Sentencing
Manzi later pleaded guilty to two counts of being concerned in the supply of class B drugs and two counts of driving whilst disqualified. He was sentenced to one year and 10 months imprisonment at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday.
Following the hearing, detective sergeant Matt Jacob, of Tarian ROCU, said: "Tarian ROCU will continue to identify, disrupt and bring to justice those involved in the supply of illegal drugs. We see first-hand the harm caused by the illegal drug trade and are committed to our mission of protecting the communities of southern Wales from its effects."
