Ashley Lopez-Trevino, 37, a controversial influencer accused of romantic involvement with up to 75 prisoners, has pleaded guilty to fraud charges. She was ordered to pay £12,500 and serve two years under community supervision in Texas.
Plea and Sentencing
Lopez-Trevino, also known as Ash Trevino, pleaded guilty to welfare fraud and fraudulent securing of document execution on 5 August. She avoided prison and will instead undergo two years of community supervision in Texas.
Allegations of Inmate Relationships
The content creator has sparked controversy by discussing her preference for 'inmate-hopping' – dating men who are in prison or recently released. Court filings published by TMZ claim she had relationships with approximately 50-75 inmates of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Some of these prisoners were allegedly behind bars for violent offences, including aggravated robbery and murder.
Prosecutors' Claims
Prosecutors also criticised what they termed as 'panhandling' on TikTok, alleging Lopez-Trevino solicited financial donations before revealing health information about a dependant. They also voiced concerns over sexually explicit videos and livestreams allegedly uploaded by the influencer.
Arrest and Legal Proceedings
Lopez-Trevino was initially arrested in Texas on 17 December 2025 after police stated she had active felony warrants. She was booked into Ellis County Jail before being released on a £11,000 bond. In livestream clips shared after her release, she said she had engaged a solicitor and intended to contest the charges.
However, she was taken back into custody in March after prosecutors alleged she had violated her bail conditions, including consuming alcohol at a birthday party and purchasing alcohol at a restaurant. Her legal team refuted that she had breached the terms of her release.
Plea Agreement
Under the resulting plea agreement, Lopez-Trevino must complete two years of supervision, fulfil other court-ordered requirements, and repay the money owed to the state.
