Love Island winner Davide Sanclimenti has alleged that a former friend scammed him out of a 'huge' amount of money in a property investment scheme. The reality TV star took to TikTok to share his ordeal, revealing that he has been waiting for his money back for two years.
Davide's TikTok Revelation
In a video captioned 'Did I get scammed?', Davide explained that around two years ago, before moving to the United States, he gave a significant sum of money to a friend involved in property. 'I had so much going on – I was moving to America, escaping a toxic relationship,' he said. Despite knowing little about property, Davide trusted the man because they had been friends for five years.
Davide stated, 'Take this money, I don't want to know nothing, just give me the money back in six to eight months.' He provided 50 percent of a loan to purchase a property, with the friend supposed to contribute the other half, making them co-owners on paper.
Investment Gone Wrong
When the friend failed to put up his share, Davide began to suspect a scam. He suggested that no property was actually bought, and two years later, the former friend claims the money 'disappeared.' Davide ended his video by appealing to property lawyers for help, saying, 'Please reach out to me and help me sue this guy.'
Davide, who won Love Island series eight in 2022 alongside Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, has since moved to Los Angeles. He lives there with his partner Iris Au and her two daughters, Paris, 10, and Pia, 11.
Davide's Life After Love Island
Davide and Iris began dating in 2024 and went public in January 2025. On Valentine's Day that year, he declared his love for Iris in an Instagram post, writing, 'Happy Valentine's Day to the most romantic woman I've ever met. Since being with you, I learned what a 'monthsary' is.'
Meanwhile, his former Love Island partner Ekin-Su appeared on Love Island All Stars and dated Curtis Pritchard. The couple split after the show, with Ekin-Su stating in a statement, 'Curtis and I have decided to go our separate ways. It's been a really tough decision, but one made with a lot of love and respect for one another.'
