Police Seize £100k Lego Collection in Melbourne Drug Lab Raid

Victoria Police have uncovered a massive Lego collection worth over £100,000 alongside an alleged meth lab in a Melbourne suburb. The 1,130 boxes of plastic building blocks were discovered during a raid at a Botanic Ridge house on Tuesday.

Detectives also found boxes of gemstones at the property. Police said the Lego haul was so large that a truck would be needed to transport it.

A 36-year-old man was arrested and charged with trafficking, proceeds of crime and firearms offences. A 32-year-old woman was also arrested but later released without charge.

The man appeared at Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday and was remanded in custody to reappear in February.

Detective Inspector Anthony Vella said it was unusual to seize such items. 'This is the first time our detectives have seized a Lego collection – let alone one so large that it requires specific transportation to remove it,' he said.

Police will allege the Lego and gemstones are proceeds of crime.
