A new episode of Channel 4's true crime series 999: What Happened Next airs tonight (September 28) at 9pm, revisiting a murder described as a "real-life horror film."
The episode takes viewers back to October 2025 in Prestatyn, North Wales, when the body of a woman was found brutally attacked in local woodland. The victim was identified as 45-year-old Angela Shellis, who had been reported missing from her family home. She was killed by her son, Tristan Roberts.
Officers describe the scene
The instalment hears from officers involved, who were horrified by what they saw on the winter morning. After a 999 call from a concerned worker who found Angela's body, Detective Constable Claire Owen of North Wales Police told viewers: "It was a real concern tht we might have an unknown offender roaming round and we didn't know if it was a stranger attack or someone they knew."
At the scene, she added: "There's all sorts of things going through your mind up here. There's a big trail of blood on this gravel path leading to the body and it's just up here where the body had been dumped as if it was a piece of rubbish. It was like something out of a horror film."
Second case in the episode
The episode also follows an investigation with West Mercia Police after a series of aggravated burglaries targeting family homes. The official synopsis teases: "Across both cases, detectives face challenging investigations where every detail matters. Can they uncover the truth and bring those responsible to justice?"
