A private investigator has shared the most common signs that a partner may be cheating, warning that spotting four or more could be a dead giveaway. Tom Martin, a former federal agent turned PI and president of Martin Investigative Services in California, says cheaters have followed the same patterns for the last 40 years.
According to Martin, the four most obvious signs include suddenly working longer hours, increased travel for work, changes in sexual frequency, and becoming extremely defensive during conversations. He notes that any one of these alone may not be cause for concern, but a combination of several should raise alarm bells.
Other potential indicators include signing up for a gym or buying a new wardrobe, which could suggest an effort to impress someone else. Martin also highlights the importance of intuition, saying that many people sense something is wrong even without obvious signs.
In the digital age, Martin points out that simple clues like logging into an iCloud account can reveal infidelity. However, he urges people not to jump to conclusions based on just one or two signs, as this could 'jeopardise a valuable relationship over what may be unfounded anxieties'.
