Gypsy Rose's Chilling Facebook Post Still Live After Ex-Fiancé's Death

Gypsy Rose Blanchard, whose former fiancé and father to her daughter has been found dead, once wrote a chilling Facebook post after her mum was stabbed to death. The post remains live online to this day.

Ken Urker was discovered unresponsive at his home in Raceland, Louisiana, on the day of his 34th birthday. Gypsy, who shares a daughter with Ken born in December 2024, grew concerned when he failed to respond to her happy birthday text. TMZ reported the dad died from an apparent overdose.

Tribute to Ken Urker

Paying an emotional tribute, she told People: “Ken loved our daughter, Aurora. She is a beautiful reflection of his enduring spirit, and through her, a part of him will always remain with us. I will make sure she grows up knowing how deeply her father loved her.”

Ken and Gypsy first started talking when the latter was serving a prison sentence for the second-degree murder of her abusive mum. The killing of Clauddine ‘Dee Dee’ Blanchard happened on June 10, 2015.

The Murder and the Facebook Post

The people responsible for Dee Dee’s death were Gypsy and her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, who stabbed her to death in her own bed. Gypsy waited until her mum was asleep before signalling Nicholas to enter the home. She then hid in the bathroom and covered her ears while he stabbed her to death.

The lovers fled the state and ended up at Godejohn’s family home in Wisconsin. Gypsy then wrote a chilling Facebook post about her mum, who suffered from Munchausen by proxy and subjected her daughter to years of abuse. It is still online to this day.

Dee and Gypsy shared a Facebook account called Dee Gyp Blanchard, and the latest post was on June 14, 2015. It read: “That B***h is dead!” The post immediately caused concern as it had been days since Dee Dee had last been seen. Gypsy later revealed she wrote the disturbing post so the body of her mother could be found.

Investigation and Aftermath

She told ABC News: “I couldn’t stand the thought of her just there because what happens if it would have taken months to find her, so I wanted her found so she could have a proper burial.”

Comments underneath the post remain up too, with one person having written: “WHAT?!!! Did your FB get hacked? I have never heard you talk like that.” Another person said: “Spoke with police. They are looking at posts.”

This was after Gypsy released a second violent and graphic post where her mother was described as a “fat pig” and the murder was detailed — but this one was taken down. The Facebook page, which has been memorialised, is still online and a statement near the top reads: “We hope that people who love Dee Gyp will find comfort in visiting her profile to remember and celebrate her life.”

Dee Dee was 48 when she was killed. She infamously lied about her daughter’s medical condition, falsely claiming she had leukemia, muscular dystrophy and was paralysed. She even made Gypsy use a wheelchair and a feed tube to rip off charities and gain access to concerts, celeb meet-and-greets and a free trip to Disney World.

The Facebook post was pivotal to the investigation, and cops traced the IP address from it to the home of Godejohn, where he and Gypsy were eventually arrested. Godejohn remains behind bars after being sentenced to life without parole in 2019 for first-degree murder. Gypsy served seven and a half years for second-degree murder. While she started chatting to the now deceased Ken from prison, she went on to marry a man called Ryan Anderson, who she later split up with. In 2024, a Prime documentary was released called Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup, where she spoke about life as a free woman.
