A 35-year-old mother was stabbed to death in front of her two young children in Little Hulton, Salford, in the early hours of Friday. Police were called to Dukesgate Grove at 2:40am after the children found their mother with a single stab wound to the chest. She was taken to hospital but later died.
Detectives believe the attack began inside the home while the children were present, then continued outside where the fatal wound was inflicted. A 45-year-old man, known to the victim, fled the scene but was later arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Gina Brennand described the incident as a “truly horrific attack on a mother, witnessed by her two young children.” She appealed for anyone with dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage from the area to contact police. Additional neighbourhood officers will patrol the area in the coming days to reassure the community.
