A quiet street in North London has become the scene of an unimaginable tragedy after an elderly man killed his wife of decades before taking his own life.
The bodies of an 88-year-old man and his 85-year-old wife were discovered by Metropolitan Police officers at their home on Wellhouse Lane in Barnet on the morning of Tuesday, 25th June. The discovery was made after authorities responded to concerns for the welfare of the residents.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination confirmed the woman died from compression of the neck, while the man's death is being treated as non-suspicious.

Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley, leading the investigation, stated: "This is an incredibly sad incident. While we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths, our investigation continues to piece together the exact circumstances."
