Driver Threatened by Neighbour Despite Driving 17mph

A man was left stunned when his neighbour threatened him with a four-word warning, accusing him of speeding, even though he was driving at just 17mph in a 30mph zone. The incident, shared on Reddit's 'Neighbours from Hell' forum, has sparked advice from users urging the man to document the behaviour.

Verbal Attack Over Driving Speed

The man said he was driving home while the neighbour's children were playing in the road. He believed 17mph was an acceptable speed, but as he parked, the neighbours yelled at him to slow down. The husband then made the threat: "I'll f*** you up."

He tried to explain he was not breaking any laws, but the exchange ended with him telling the neighbour to "p*** off." He also suggested they contact the police if they had a problem with his speed.

Previous Unreasonable Behaviour

The man recounted another incident where the same neighbours let their cat wander into a neighbour's backyard. The cat caused a family friend's dog to bark and growl as it crawled along the fence. The neighbour then banged on the door and threatened to personally put the dog down if the cat was hurt or killed.

Advice from Reddit Users

Commenters urged the man to start documenting the neighbours' actions. One suggested reporting the threats to the police to begin a paper trail, while another advised staying "boring, factual and documented." A third recommended getting a dashcam and a doorbell camera, and notifying the Home Owner's Association about the abusive neighbours, with police contact if harassment continues.
