Greater Manchester Police are continuing to investigate the discovery of a suspicious item in a front garden in Fallowfield, which prompted a large-scale emergency response and the evacuation of nearby homes on Saturday night.

Incident Details

The incident unfolded around 6pm on June 6, when police were called to Abram Close. A significant cordon was established, and emergency services, including fire crews, ambulances, and army bomb disposal experts, swarmed the area. Approximately 20 neighbouring properties were advised to evacuate, with residents unable to return until roughly 11pm. One resident reported seeing a bomb disposal robot deployed at the scene.

Resident Reaction

A local resident expressed unease, stating: "I'm a bit nervous about what's going on right now. This is quite a peaceful neighbourhood. This community is really tiny." The cordon remained in place into the early hours of Sunday morning.
