Victim Identified in Burnage Murder Case
Greater Manchester Police have named the woman at the centre of a murder investigation in Burnage as Ann Teague. Officers and paramedics were called to a house on Ivylea Road at around 8am on Wednesday, July 8, following reports of an assault.
The victim, a woman in her 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. A murder investigation was immediately launched and remains ongoing. A 16-year-old boy was taken into custody on suspicion of murder and continues to be held for questioning.
Police Presence and Investigation
On Wednesday evening, a police car was seen along the residential street. A witness reported a significant police presence at the house throughout the day as investigations continued. A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson stated: "Officers responded to reports of an assault at an address on Ivylea Road, Burnage at around 8am today (08/07/26). One woman aged in her 60s sadly died at the scene and a boy, aged 16, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody for questioning."
No further updates on the investigation have yet been revealed. The community has been left shocked by the incident, with neighbours describing the area as usually quiet and peaceful.
