A woman has been found dead in a parked car on a street in Glasgow, prompting a police investigation. The 50-year-old was discovered unresponsive in a vehicle on Sunnylaw Street in the Possilpark district at around 11:15pm on Wednesday, June 24.
Emergency services were called to the scene, but despite their efforts, the woman was pronounced dead at the location. Her next of kin have been informed and are receiving support.
Police treat death as unexplained
Police Scotland has stated that the death is being treated as unexplained, and investigations into the circumstances are ongoing. The area around Sunnylaw Street remains cordoned off as officers conduct inquiries.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 11.15pm on Wednesday, 24 June, 2026, we received a report of an unresponsive woman in a vehicle on Sunnylaw Street in Glasgow. Emergency services attended however the 50-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin is aware. The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing."

Residents in the Possilpark area have expressed shock following the incident. The street remains sealed off while forensic examinations and other investigative work continue. Police have not released further details about the woman's identity or the possible cause of death at this stage.
