Clare Evans, a 32-year-old woman from the Rumney area of Cardiff, has died after being found unresponsive at her home on Abergele Road, an inquest opening has revealed. The incident occurred on February 3, when Ms Evans was discovered unresponsive in bed.
Hospital Admission and Death
Following the discovery, Ms Evans was admitted to the resuscitation unit at the University Hospital of Wales. Despite medical efforts, she died the following day, February 4. A post-mortem examination conducted by pathologist Dr Meleri Morgan on February 9 yielded a provisional cause of death listed as "indeterminate."
Inquest Proceedings
Coroner Rachel Knight, presiding over the inquest opening at Pontypridd coroners' court on Thursday, stated that opening an inquest into Ms Evans' death was mandatory due to the indeterminate cause of death. The full inquest has been adjourned to a date yet to be specified. At the conclusion of the brief hearing, Ms Knight extended her condolences to Ms Evans' family.
