A young footballer has told of the terrifying moment she was spiked with a date-rape drug in a Magaluf nightclub. Taylor Coulter, 18, had travelled to the Spanish resort on June 16 for a girls holiday to mark the end of high school. But her celebrations turned into a horrible nightmare when a man who deliberately bumped into her in the Bananas club on the notorious strip injected her arm with GHB (γ-hydroxybutyrate) – a potent central nervous system depressant commonly used for rendering its victims unconscious. The young Greenock Morton Women's FC player collapsed on the dancefloor within minutes. She was left vomiting and unable to walk, talk or see.
Whisky worker convicted of punching partner
A whisky worker has been convicted of punching his partner during an “abhorrent” attack after a booze festival. Marcos McCurley, an ambassador for a Glasgow-based spirits firm, was found guilty of injuring his girlfriend in the street following the city’s Whisky Festival in November last year. The 32-year-old, of Dundee, pushed his victim to the ground and punched her on the arm before abusing her in a car and smashing her mobile phone against the windscreen. Outraged sources in the industry described McCurley as the “self-proclaimed face of Scotch whisky” and the front man for Brave New Spirits.

Emergency services were called to the residential estate after the smoking car was discovered.
Woman accused of XL Bully sex acts fails to appear
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a woman who faces allegations of engaging in sex acts with an XL Bully dog. Stephanie Watson, 35, was charged after reports were made about footage being circulated on social media. Members of the public reported the clips to police and an investigation was launched. Watson, of Lanark, faces allegations she had an 'unnatural connection' with a dog at an address in Bellshill, Lanarkshire, between June and December 2024. It is claimed she committed the alleged offence while on four separate bail orders. She had been expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court today but failed to attend. Depute fiscal Sadia Bhatti told the brief hearing she was calling for a warrant to be issued for Watson's arrest. She said: "The accused is not present." Stephen McQuillan, defending, said Watson had not contacted him prior to the scheduled hearing and Sheriff John Spier granted the warrant.
Man convicted of sex attacks on his mum
A man has been convicted of sexually assaulting his frail, elderly mother in a Fife care home. The shocking incidents took place in a public area of the home and in one case during a religious service. The victim, who was in her eighties, is now deceased. Craig Leiper’s depraved conduct was witnessed by care workers, a church minister and a woman visiting her own mother at the nursing home. They did not intervene at the time but concerns about the inappropriate touching grew and the matter was reported to police with Leiper banned from the home. Leiper claimed he was unhappy about the care being given to his mother at the home and she had asked him to massage her legs because of discomfort.
