Rail passengers are facing severe delays and cancellations after a person was tragically hit by a train between Crewe and Stoke-on-Trent, according to East Midlands Railway (EMR). East Midlands Railway confirmed the incident on social media, stating, "We are sad to report that a person has been hit by a train between Crewe and Stoke-On-Trent. No trains can currently run between Crewe and Stoke-On-Trent."
A CrossCountry spokesperson said: "Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident between Stafford and Stockport some lines are blocked. Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or diverted."
