A Tyneside man is facing jail after he admitted offering to deal four different types of drugs. Joe Jobes was concerned in offering to supply codeine, pregabalin, diazepam and tramadol to punters across Newcastle.
A court heard that the 24-year-old, who has no past convictions, was involved in dealing the class B and C drugs over a five-month period between 2024 and 2025. Jobes, of Broadmead Way, in Scotswood, appeared in the dock this week to plead guilty to four charges.
Charges and prosecution case
They were one of being concerned in the offer to supply a class B drug and three of being concerned in the offer to supply class C drugs. Ruth Forster, prosecuting at Newcastle Magistrates' Court, said the offences happened between October 2024 and March 2025.
Mrs Forster continued: "These are all offences which will probably require a pre-sentence report. The Crown would say it's a significant role supplying directly to users. The starting point is one year in custody."
Adjournment for pre-sentence report
Adjourning the case for the preparation of a pre-sentence report, District Judge Paul Currer said: "You have pleaded guilty to these allegations and, because you have pleaded guilty, you will get credit for that. The offences are so serious that I need more information about you.
"So, I'm adjourning the case for the preparation of a pre-sentence report. The fact that I am adjourning sentence for a report is no indication of what sentence will be passed." All options remain open.
Jobes was released on unconditional bail to next appear at the same court on October 27.
