Merseyside Police have launched a murder investigation after Tracy McCormack, 55, was found dead at a block of flats on St Ambrose Croft in Netherton on Sunday, July 5. Paramedics reported the death to police at around 10am, prompting the investigation.
Victim Identified as Beloved Mother and Grandmother
Tracy McCormack, from Litherland, was described by her family as a 'beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend.' In a tribute released via Merseyside Police, the family said: 'She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Our family kindly asks for privacy during this difficult time as we grieve this devastating loss.'
A post-mortem examination is yet to take place, and the death is being treated as unexplained while enquiries continue.
Arrest and Bail
A 30-year-old woman from Netherton was arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday. She has since been released on bail as investigations proceed. Detective Chief Inspector Alan Nuttall stated: 'Our thoughts continue to be with Tracy's family at this tragic time and they are being supported by our family liaison officers. Although we have arrested a person in connection with the investigation, we continue to appeal for anyone with information to please contact us. Any information no matter how small will assist with our enquiries.'

Detectives are pursuing several lines of enquiry and urge anyone with information to come forward.
