A murder investigation is underway after a body was found in a burning van in Prestatyn. Emergency services were called to Gas Works Lane at around 11.30pm on Sunday, October 4, over reports of a van fire.
Police, fire crews and paramedics all attended the scene before police announced a body was found inside the van. North Wales Police said the person is yet to be identified and a police cordon remains in place.
Arrest made
A 38-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of murder, North Wales Live reports. The arrest comes after the discovery of the body in the vehicle.
Detective Chief Inspector Zoie Dunkerley said: "Our investigation is still in the early stages, and we are yet to identify the person that sadly died."
Appeal for information
Detective Chief Inspector Dunkerley added: "Enquiries will continue over the coming days and an increased police presence will be visible in the area."
