Meghan Markle's UK Return Uncertain as Sussexes Await Security Decision
Meghan Markle's UK Return Uncertain Amid Security Wait

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not yet decided whether Meghan Markle and their children will travel to parts of the UK outside London, the Daily Express understands. Prince Harry is expected to fly to London solo on Monday for a five-day trip marking the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games in Birmingham, amid ongoing security concerns.

Security Review Pending

Harry was awaiting a review by the Risk Management Board (RMB), part of the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) process that determines his security requirements. Just days before the trip, the Sussexes were informed that no decision had been made, while reports suggested a request for police protection for the upcoming visit had been denied.

Family Reunion Hopes Dashed

Harry had hoped to bring Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to London, where King Charles is expected to be for most of his visit, potentially allowing a family reunion. The Sussex children last saw their grandfather in person during Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022. However, their and Meghan's potential arrival in the UK remains uncertain hours before the duke's departure.

The Daily Express has been told that the Sussex camp are "still waiting on a decision" regarding whether it is safe for Harry's wife and children to visit other parts of the UK. The children are not expected to attend any public events, but Meghan was reportedly scheduled to join her husband on visits to the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London and an Invictus event at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.

Public Opinion Divided

A recent Daily Express poll of 2,884 readers conducted between Saturday, July 4 at 2:30 pm and Sunday, July 5 at 7 am found that seven out of ten (1,988) said Harry was "right" to travel solo, while nearly three out of ten (768) disagreed, and 128 voted "I don't know."
