Man's Body Found Near River Taff in Abercynon

South Wales Police have confirmed that a man's body was found near the River Taff in Abercynon on Tuesday, June 23. Officers were called to the A470 Abercynon Roundabout shortly before 11am following a report of a concern for welfare.

Discovery and Response

Upon arrival, emergency services located the body of a man near the river. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The A470 was closed in both directions for a brief period to allow police and crime scene investigation teams to attend.

A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "Officers were called to the road near the A470 Abercynon Roundabout shortly before 11am on Tuesday (June 23) following a report of a concern for welfare. The body of a man was located by the River Taff upon emergency services' arrival, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The road was briefly closed in both directions to allow for police and CSI attendance."
