Lee Scarfe, 38, of Park View Terrace in Aberdare, was sentenced to four years and three months in prison after he was convicted of being concerned in the supply of cocaine in February. He pleaded guilty to the offence after search officers found a number linked to Scarfe during a South Wales Police investigation into a drugs line in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
Arrest and Evidence
On January 8, 2025, Scarfe was located by officers driving a car in the Barry area. While he was stopped and arrested officers carried out a search of the car and found a bag with £4,000 of cash inside. His phone was also seized which revealed messages linking Scarfe to the supply of cocaine.
Confiscation Order
A Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) hearing in front of Judge Christopher Felstead at Cardiff Crown Court heard Scarfe benefited to the tune of £545,935.89 as a result of his offending but only has assets worth £4,860. A confiscation order was made for the £4,860 which needs to be paid within three months of release or Scarfe will serve one month in prison in default.
After Scarfe was sentenced PC Rhodri Wilson said: "These illegal drugs have devastating consequences on the people further down the chain who end up using them not to mention their family, friends, and wider communities. We will continue to investigate any information you have which could relate to the sale or use of these drugs."
