An inquest in Ipswich has heard that a three-year-old boy found dead in a lake had left a play area through a gap in the fence. Noah Woods became separated from a relative after visiting the playground in Brantham, Suffolk Police had previously said.
Search and recovery
Around 1,300 members of the public joined the search for Noah, who police said was non-verbal, partially deaf and had been undergoing an assessment for autism. Met Police divers recovered his body from a lake known locally as Decoy Pond on Wednesday, September 16, the day after he went missing.
Suffolk Police said they were not treating the death as suspicious.
Family tribute
Noah's father, Rhys Woods, paid tribute to his son in a message shared on a community Facebook group. He wrote: "There are no words to describe the pain of this loss, we are all absolutely heartbroken, Noah was the sweetest and most innocent little boy, with nothing but love to give, and we are going to miss him so very much."
