Edinburgh Crossbow Attack Leaves Man Injured; Three Arrested

Three people have been arrested following a suspected crossbow attack in Edinburgh. Emergency services were called to Durar Drive and Ardshiel Avenue in Clermiston at 8am on Thursday, June 25. A 42-year-old man was found injured and taken to hospital for treatment. Three men aged 32, 34, and 60 have been arrested in connection with the incident.

The residential streets were locked down by officers. Images taken at the scene show uniformed cops standing guard around the area where one resident voiced concerns about 'blood all over the street'. Among the items at the scene were a metal bar and an arrow from a crossbow. Various other blood-stained items were seen lying nearby a fence.

Foot Soldier Jailed for 40 Months in £300k Cocaine Operation

A man caught in a £300k cocaine operation was jailed today for 40 months. Declan Price, 29, worked with drug kingpin Paul Easdon, 38, who was snared during a police probe which saw him kept under watch. The High Court in Glasgow heard how a Renault Clio had been stopped in the city's Sandyhills on August 2, 2024. Price, of Ruchazie, Glasgow, got out clutching two carrier bags.

Prosecutor Vish Kathuria told the hearing: 'One of them was searched and found to contain two taped blocks of cocaine. The other bag had three taped blocks of the drug. Each weighed one kilogram.' Easdon's DNA was found on two of the packages discovered. Mr Kathuria stated the haul had a total potential value of around £300,000.

Woman Found Dead in Car in Glasgow

A woman has been found dead in a car on a street in Glasgow. Police raced to Sunnylaw Street in the Possilpark area of the city after receiving a report of an unresponsive woman in a vehicle at 11.15pm on Wednesday, June 24. Emergency crews attended but the 50-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin is aware. Police say they are currently treating her death as unexplained. Inquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.

Crime Boss Steven Lyons Extradited to Spain

Crime boss Steven Lyons is set to languish in an overcrowded Spanish jail near Malaga while facing organised crime charges. The 46-year-old was extradited to Spain yesterday, where cops say he is wanted on suspicion of money laundering and membership of a criminal gang. Investigators also claimed Lyons will face questioning over his alleged involvement in a murder in 2024. Lyons was expected to appear at a closed court hearing on June 24 and would have spent the night in a VIP jail north of Madrid.
