Newborn Abducted from German Hospital by Fake Nurse

A seven-day-old baby boy was abducted from a hospital in Germany by a woman posing as a nurse, sparking a large-scale police operation. The infant was taken from the neonatal ward of Lüdenscheid hospital in North Rhine-Westphalia on the afternoon of June 27, 2026.

Abduction Details

According to police, the suspect, described as being in her mid-20s to early 30s with blonde hair, entered a patient's room at 3.15pm local time. She was wearing a light blue coat and large glasses, and claimed she needed to take the baby for an examination. The family reportedly did not recognise the woman.

The baby was found approximately one hour later, at 4.10pm, lying naked in the stairwell of a nearby car park next to a ticket machine. The Sterncenter parking garage is a multi-story facility about an eight-minute drive from the hospital. An ambulance returned the infant to the hospital, where he is reported to be in good health.
