13-Year-Old Dies in M4 Crash; Woman Hospitalised

A 13-year-old boy has died and a woman has been hospitalised with serious injuries following a two-vehicle crash on the M4 motorway on Saturday evening. The incident occurred between junctions 16 and 17 near Swindon at approximately 8pm, Wiltshire Police confirmed.

Details of the Collision

The teenager was a passenger in a Toyota RAV-4 that was allegedly in collision with a Renault van. Emergency services attended the scene, but the boy was pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger in the Toyota was taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The drivers of both vehicles were not seriously injured, according to police.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Wiltshire Police have launched an appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage. In a statement, the force said: "Our thoughts are with the family of the teenager at this incredibly difficult time and we ask that their privacy is respected. We need to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage."
