CrossCountry Trains has warned passengers of "significant disruption" across its network on Sunday, August 23, after a power cut affected its control centre. Train services across almost all CrossCountry routes have been withdrawn until further notice.
Official Statement from CrossCountry Trains
In a post on X, CrossCountry Trains wrote: "Services across the CrossCountry network will be significantly disrupted on Sunday 23 August due to a power cut affecting our control centre. Significant reductions to services and cancellations are expected across almost all routes."
The company also posted a message on its website, stating: "As a result of a power cut affecting CrossCountry control centre, train services across almost all routes will be withdrawn until further notice on Sunday 23 August."
Exceptions and Replacement Services
A near-normal service is expected between Peterborough, Cambridge and Stansted Airport due to the impact of planned engineering work. A rail replacement bus service will remain in place as planned between Leicester and Peterborough.
