The A9 has been closed southbound following a collision between two HGV lorries in Stirlingshire. Emergency services responded to the incident on the southbound carriageway between the Doune Road junction and Keir Roundabout at 4:20 am on Wednesday.
Drivers Hospitalized
Both drivers involved in the crash have been taken to hospital. Their conditions have not yet been disclosed.
Traffic Disruption
Motorists are facing significant delays as a 4.5km diversion has been put in place. A Traffic Scotland spokesperson confirmed: "A9 southbound, The A9 is closed southbound between Doune Road junction and Keir Roundabout due to a road traffic incident. Police and all Emergency Services Present."
Diversion Details
The diversion route is as follows: Exit the A9 left onto the B8033 into Dunblane, then take Perth Road, Dunblane southwards into Stirling Road, and continue on the B8033 to Keir Roundabout, following permanent signs.
A Police Scotland spokesperson stated: "The A9 is closed southbound between the A820 and Keir Roundabout following a two-vehicle crash which happened around 4.20am. Both drivers have been taken to hospital. It will remain closed or reduced to one lane to allow for vehicle recovery. Diversions are in place."
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for comment but has not yet responded.
