TUI agent reveals top autumn holiday with 28C heat and £1.50 pints

A TUI travel agent has named Egypt as one of the best autumn holiday destinations for Brits, citing hot weather, low-cost drinks and relatively short flight times.

Jane Cox, who has worked as a TUI travel agent for 23 years, shared her recommendations for last-minute autumn escapes. Speaking to WalesOnline, she said: "Autumn is one of my favourite times to travel because you can get many of the same benefits as a summer holiday, but with fewer crowds and often better value too."

Why Egypt is a top pick

Daytime temperatures in Egypt often range from 28-32C in autumn, making it suitable for beach days or poolside relaxation. The country also offers numerous excursions for those interested in exploring historic sites.

According to TUI research, average pint costs start from £1.50, while a glass of wine costs around £4. Meals range from £6-£15 per person.

What the agent says

Cox explained: "Egypt is a really good option for autumn because the temperatures become much more comfortable while still delivering plenty of sunshine. It’s a great time to enjoy everything the destination has to offer, whether that’s spending time on the beach, snorkelling in the Red Sea or exploring some of the country’s incredible history."

Flight times are approximately five hours from UK airports, meaning it is not suited to a long weekend but works well for a week away without excessive travel.

Booking advice and options

Prices can surge over October half term, so travelling earlier in the month may offer better value for those not tied to school holidays. Accommodation options include a range of all-inclusive resorts.

Cox recommended the Jaz Bluemarine Resort, saying: "It has something for everyone, from relaxing pool days and a private beach to an aquapark and evening entertainment. Plus, being close to the Red Sea means there are fantastic opportunities for snorkelling and exploring."

TUI offers seven-night all-inclusive holidays in Egypt from £736pp outside October half term. First Choice also offers Egypt holidays including Hurghada, while easyJet Holidays has breaks in destinations such as Sharm-el-Sheikh.
