A new private aviation service offering luxury day trips for groups of six is set to launch from Liverpool John Lennon Airport and Manchester Airport in 2027. THE SIX will allow customers to book individual seats rather than having to charter an entire aircraft.
Each trip will include return private flights, chauffeured transfers, dining and experiences at the destination. Passengers will be able to book in groups of two, four or six, with groups booking all six seats receiving exclusive use of the aircraft.
First trip to Champagne region
The first planned trip will take passengers to France's Champagne region, with a flight time of approximately 90 minutes. The itinerary will include a private Champagne house tour, cellar tastings and lunch at the five-star Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa.
The experience will cost £3,495 per person and include flights, transfers, tastings and lunch. Champagne will also be provided before passengers return to the UK on the same day.
Founder and backing
THE SIX was founded by Duncan Falconer, who began his hospitality career at The Chester Grosvenor Hotel before moving into aviation. He is now a commercial pilot, flying Boeing 787 aircraft for a UK airline.
The business is backed by investor Jason Bligh, who first met Falconer more than 20 years ago while they were both working at The Chester Grosvenor. Falconer said the idea came from wanting to make private air travel accessible without requiring customers to charter an entire aircraft.
Future destinations and launch bases
Other destinations being considered include the Isle of Islay for golf and whisky, Paris for Valentine's Day, Saint-Tropez in summer and Ibiza. Bespoke trips will also be available for birthdays, anniversaries and corporate rewards.
Liverpool and Manchester have been chosen as the launch bases to give customers across Merseyside, Cheshire and the wider North of England access to luxury private travel. Registrations of interest are now open at thesix.world, with waiting list members receiving priority access to the first departures in 2027.
