Time Out has published a guide to the best places to go in the UK in 2026, and Stirling claimed the coveted top position. Surrounded by sweeping farmland, the city boasts a medieval old town and the magnificent Stirling Castle, perched atop a rugged volcanic rock. The Old Bridge and port are steeped in history, while landmarks like the National Wallace Monument and Stirling Old Town Jail offer fascinating glimpses into the past.
History enthusiasts will particularly enjoy the Bannockburn Experience, which uses cutting-edge technology to bring the 14th-century battle to life for modern audiences. Visitors can see the actual battlefield where the historic event took place more than 700 years ago.
New Attractions in 2026
Time Out highlighted several reasons to visit Stirling this year.
