The cottage sits in Wandylaw, a 15-minute drive from the Northumberland Coast, while the eastern edge of Northumberland National Park is less than half an hour away. The seaside village of Bamburgh, with its award-winning beach, and the market town of Alnwick, home to its famous castle, are both reachable within 15 minutes by car.
Accommodation and amenities
The Nook sleeps up to five guests across two bedrooms with one bathroom, and is dog-friendly, allowing up to two dogs. It features an open-plan lounge, kitchen and diner, with sofas arranged around a wood burner, and an outside paved courtyard terrace offering views of the countryside and coast. Visitors should note that this outdoor space is not fully enclosed.
The next available dates are in October, priced from £789 for a seven-night stay. The cottage's proximity to the A1 makes it a convenient base for exploring the county.

About 15 minutes from Wandylaw is the village of Embleton, which has been highlighted by Sykes Holiday Cottages as one of the best staycation spots in Northumberland. While most reviews are five-star, one guest who brought dogs noted: "We knew the courtyard was not enclosed which was a shame as it meant the dogs were unable to be outside without a lead on."
