Kelly Brook has revealed she once considered a complete lifestyle and career change after visiting a popular Scottish village for her birthday. The Loose Women star described Braemar as the "most beautiful" place she has visited in Scotland and admitted she has fantasised about starting a whole new life there.
Speaking with her Heart Radio colleague JK about the Corgi Race Vilnius, which occurred in Lithuania at the weekend, the broadcaster recalled a special Scottish getaway for her birthday celebrations. Given the UK's strong connection with the breed through the late Queen Elizabeth II's enduring affection for corgis, she shared her dream of opening a café called Corgis next to Balmoral Castle.
A Dream Business Plan
Chatting to her colleague, she said: "We went to Scotland for my birthday a couple of years ago and we went to Balmoral and do you remember I found that run down little café, which was closed down and I wanted to move to Braemar and open it up and call it Corgis? Do you remember? I had a whole business plan," before adding: "I was going to quit the radio and call it Corgis."
When asked why the plan didn't go ahead, the 45-year-old quipped: "I couldn't find an investor, I need to work more on my pitch."
Why Braemar Captivated Kelly
Kelly carried on praising Braemar throughout the programme, admitting she would still relish living in the area. She shared with listeners: "I just thought it was the most beautiful village in Scotland and I really wanted to live there for the rest of my life and open up a café called Corgis next to Balmoral Castle, that was my dream."
It's easy to see why Braemar left such a lasting impact on Kelly. Situated within the Cairngorms National Park in the Scottish Highlands, this charming village is embraced by mountains, woodlands and some of Scotland's most breathtaking scenery.
Royal Heritage and Celebrity Appeal
The village is also rich in royal heritage, with Balmoral Castle located nearby and its yearly Braemar Gathering maintaining longstanding ties with the Royal Family. King Charles regularly attends the Highland Games, held in Royal Deeside every September. His latest appearance was last year, when he was seen with Queen Camilla.
Beyond its royal links, the village has gained acclaim for other reasons. It featured as one of Scotland's finest places to reside in The Sunday Times 2026 guide, while achieving 70 per cent in Which?'s most recent survey of Britain's top towns and villages, securing five stars for its landscape.
Kelly isn't alone among famous faces captivated by the village. Partly due to its upmarket hotel, the Fife Arms, Braemar has attracted numerous celebrities, with Dame Judi Dench, Rita Ora and James Nesbitt amongst the notable figures who have apparently lodged there. Last year, Will Ferrell was also photographed exploring Aberdeenshire's attractions during a trip to Braemar Castle on Royal Deeside.
