Jet2 has announced a major expansion to its Greek network, with flights and package holidays to the island of Thassos set to begin in summer 2027. Services will operate via Kavala International Airport from Birmingham, Manchester and London Stansted.
Birmingham will offer weekly Wednesday departures from 12 May to 29 September 2027. Manchester will run twice-weekly services on Tuesdays and Fridays, while London Stansted will have weekly Tuesday flights. The move means Jet2 will serve 16 Greek airports, more than any other British carrier, it claims.
The new routes are part of a partnership with the Region of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace, which aims to boost tourism to Thassos. Local officials describe the island as one of Greece's "best kept secrets", known for its beaches and family-friendly appeal.
Jet2holidays packages will include return transfers, 22kg luggage allowance and a £60 per person deposit, with ATOL protection. The operator has held Which? Recommended Provider status for 11 consecutive years.
Regional Governor Christodoulos Topsidis said the cooperation with Jet2 represents "a significant recognition" of the region's momentum on the international tourism map. Jacob Bramley, General Manager at Jet2, said the company is "very excited about launching to this fantastic brand-new destination."
