Edinburgh has been ranked sixth among the world's most walkable cities, according to investment platform Insider Monkey, cementing its reputation as a top destination for autumn visitors.
The Scottish capital's UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town, with its medieval buildings and cobblestone lanes, sits within comfortable walking distance of landmarks such as Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile.
Green spaces and cultural attractions
The city also offers extensive green areas, including Princes Street Gardens and the Royal Botanic Garden, ideal for relaxed strolls. Culture enthusiasts can explore the National Museum of Scotland, the Scottish Parliament and numerous art galleries, all conveniently located.
Each August, Edinburgh hosts the famous Fringe festival, with thousands of performances across hundreds of venues, turning the city into a hub of comedy, theatre, music and entertainment.
