Beadnell Bay, a horseshoe-shaped beach on the Northumberland coast, is well known as a 'watersports paradise'. The sheltered, sweeping crescent of golden sand offers a destination for sand castle building, surfing, sailing, paddleboarding, kite watching, kayaking, wakeboarding and many other activities.
Protected waters and dog-friendly access
The beach's protected waters make it a firm favourite for water sports fans and those looking to take up a new hobby. Beadnell Bay is dog-friendly all year round, with plenty of parking, restaurants and cafes nearby.
Historic sailing club and harbour
On the coast sits Beadnell Sailing Club, located in the only west-facing harbour on the east coast. The club has stood in the village for over 40 years, where fishermen continue the decades-old tradition of fishing for wild salmon and sea trout.
Colourful fishing boats are dotted around the harbour, and from the club a wide variety of dinghies are sailed and raced. Boats also venture to Holy Island and the Farne Islands to the north, and Craster and Alnmouth to the south.
