Described as 'built for homes with pets', the device removes stains and odours using a combination of liquid and suction. It is suitable for spot cleaning carpets, rugs, furniture, stairs and in cars. The cleaner comes with four tools: a Tough Stain Tool, Crevice Tool, Pet Hair Extractor, and Pet Stain Trapping Tool. It is not suitable for use on wool carpets.

Express writer Sophie Harris reviewed the spot cleaner, stating: “Stubborn stains were banished from my carpet in 2 minutes with this 1 device.” In her review, she noted: “A proper carpet cleaner is designed to lift dirt, moisture and odours deep within the fibres, and I was impressed at how good it worked.” She found it very effective on fresh stains, lifting muddy stains, food spills and even paint splatters. On older stains, it still worked perfectly. However, she pointed out a drawback: “One drawback is that it isn’t cordless, and while this means you don’t have to charge batteries, it makes moving around the house a little harder. I had to keep changing the plug I was using, which was a little inconvenient, as I'm used to cordless devices.” Her final verdict: “Overall, I’d say the Shark StainStriker is excellent for pet owners and really good at removing everyday carpet stains. I've tried multiple carpet cleaners in the past, and this was definitely the best at lifting stains. It's easy to use, easy to store, and effective, so I won't ever go back to manual carpet-cleaning solutions. For fresh pet messes and general spot cleaning, it works very well and saves a lot of hassle.”
