Salah Replacement 'Excited' to Join Liverpool as £112m Deal Doubted

Liverpool are pressing ahead in the transfer market to secure a new star winger to replace the outgoing Mohamed Salah, and one of their priority targets has made his feelings clear. PSG's Bradley Barcola is reportedly 'excited' and 'thrilled' at the prospect of joining the Reds, according to French reports.

Barcola 'Thrilled' by Liverpool Project

The 23-year-old Frenchman has emerged as a major target for both Liverpool and Arsenal, with his future at PSG in doubt as his contract enters its final two years without an extension. PSG are said to be open to a sale, with a potential deal valued between £70m and £100m. Reports in France indicate Barcola is 'excited' by the project under manager Andoni Iraola and the chance to play in the Premier League.

Carragher Warns Over £112m Diomande Deal

Meanwhile, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has urged caution over a move for 19-year-old Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande. The Reds have reportedly tabled a €100m (£86m) bid, but RB Leipzig are holding out for at least €130m (£112m), according to The Athletic.

Carragher told Sky Sports: "I thought he was fantastic in the first game of the World Cup... But when you look at him physically, he looks like he's got all those attributes. You think of the success Liverpool have had in the past with powerful, quick, wide men... He certainly looks like he's got those type of traits. But is he worth it? Time will tell."

He added: "Liverpool spent big last summer. Right now, a year on, we probably would say those players don't look worth it." The Reds splashed £446m last summer, including £125m on Alexander Isak, plus Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Giovanni Leoni, Armin Pesci and Freddie Woodman.

Liverpool's Summer Activity

Liverpool have already secured deals for Victor Munoz and Jeremy Jacquet to bolster Iraola's squad, while young defender Ifeanyi Ndukwe is also poised to join. The club continues to monitor Diomande, who is currently playing at the World Cup with Ivory Coast, with their concluding group-stage fixture against Curacao on Wednesday.
